We are looking for a Wastewater Network Engineer to join our Home Counties networks team. This role is field‑based; you will be expected to work and travel within the Home Counties area.
* Base location: Hockford (STW) – GU24 0DE.
* Working pattern: 38 hours Monday‑Friday with additional pay for standing on a standby rota.
* Full UK driving licence essential.
* Primarily based in the South; standby responsibilities cover the North.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain the wastewater network, including resolving sewer collapses, blockages, flooding of customer homes and pollution incidents.
* Take personal ownership of customer issues – respond to queries and complaints and resolve problems promptly.
* Ensure all repairs comply with relevant regulations and standards.
* Act as a local network expert, providing information for risk assessments and sharing network risk and health‑and‑safety information.
* Attend meetings with customers, councils and the Environment Agency to discuss how the business can best support them.
* Provide critical on‑site information to support the wider Operations team.
* Supervise contractors, ensuring they work safely and adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Document and capture accurate data using IT field systems.
Key Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in a field‑based operations role within a similar organisation.
* Experience in collating data and report writing.
* Self‑motivated, disciplined, with a can‑do attitude and willingness to learn.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with the team.
* Team‑work orientation – we are one team with shared goals.
* Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site.
* Prepared to be trained in safety procedures and knowledgeable of health and safety standards.
* Full UK driving licence for manual vehicles.

* Salary from £28,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
