Salary Range

Lecturer (G7) £ 42,701 to £ 48,035, progressing to £50,977 once in post. Multiple roles available.

The role

Northeastern University London invites applications for Lecturer in Finance & Accounting. The appointee will be teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide teaching related service as required. Appointments will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching excellence.

Core duties will include development and provision of innovative and inclusive teaching in relevant areas of Business at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Preference may be given to candidates with active interests in the relationship of Business to one or more of the following areas: financial technologies, data-driven financial decision-making, humanities and social sciences, sustainability, and ethics.

We have multiple vacancies in finance and in accounting areas. Therefore, please specify in your application if you are applying particularly for teaching courses in finance or in accounting or both. About the Faculty

The appointee will work in a multidisciplinary team within the Faculty of Social Sciences and is likely to contribute to work across a variety of teams, both faculty and professional services colleagues. In the 2025/26 academic year, the Business and Project Management faculty team will comprise approximately 20 academic staff, working in a range of fields, including strategy, international business, marketing, finance and accounting, organisational behaviour, financial technologies, sustainable business practices, and project management.

The Faculty of Social Sciences has approximately 70 academic staff, including academics in Economics, Politics and International Relations, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, and Design & Communication Studies. Person Specification Criteria

To undertake this role, the following should apply-should you not have the experience below, please do highlight where transferable skills would assist with you undertaking the role. Unless specified, all criteria are considered essential.

Qualifications

* Masters (PhD desirable). Equivalent relevant professional experience in lieu of masters or PhD will also be considered.
* AdvanceHE fellowship status, or equivalent teaching qualification, achieved or expected (desirable)
Key Criteria
* Teaching competency in Finance at Levels 4-7 (i.e. both undergraduate and postgraduate levels) and Accounting at Levels 4-6 (undergraduate levels)
* Demonstrates, through evidence, excellent ability to be adaptable, innovative, and inclusive in the role as advertised with regards to teaching and teaching related service
* Ability to develop excellent educational provision in areas with significant appeal to students, including at postgraduate level, and with a focus on experiential learning
* Flexibility and capacity to teach across a wide range of courses, where appropriate in collaboration with specialists from other disciplines
* Willingness and capacity to undertake continuous professional development in relation to institutionally strategic themes, including but not limited to technology, data backed processes and decisions, sustainability, and ethics
* Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills, both face-to-face and online
* Excellent IT skills and evidence of supporting the integration of technologies into learning and teaching
