Explore Learning Overview
Inspire learning. Build confidence. Change children’s lives.
For 25 years, Explore Learning has helped children across the UK thrive through expert tuition, innovative learning tools, and the dedication of our incredible people.
We offer a truly individualised approach to tuition. Our learning platform Compass follows each child’s pace of learning and adapts in real time, allowing tutors to stretch or scaffold to enable meaningful progress.
While our award‑winning platform takes us far, it’s our tutors who truly bring learning to life by building confidence, inspiring curiosity, and delivering meaningful learning experiences that make a lasting difference.
Whether you are just starting out in your career or looking for a meaningful first step into education, this role gives you the chance to learn quickly through hands‑on experience, supported by a team that’s invested in your growth.
Responsibilities
As a tutor, you will play a key role in every child’s learning journey by:
* Delivering lessons that last: Using Compass to deliver tailored sessions that facilitate learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.
* Building meaningful relationships: With a 16:1 ratio, you’ll get to know each child and create a safe, inspiring environment where they can take risks and develop a lifelong love of learning.
* Driving academic progress: Supporting members as they work through the national curriculum, entrance exams and GCSE preparation, celebrating milestones and successes along the way.
Qualifications
* Confident leading sessions with small groups (maximum 16), always putting children’s safety and wellbeing first.
* Comfortable supporting children aged 4‑16 across the national curriculum, including 11+ entrance exams and GCSE content.
* Committed to building meaningful, long‑term relationships, providing consistency and stability for children to thrive.
* Achieved a grade 5 or above in Maths and English at GCSE level (or equivalent). Predicted grades accepted if results are due within the next 3 months.
Benefits
* Make a real impact – leave each session knowing you’ve helped children grow in confidence, develop key skills and build a love of learning that lasts.
* Focus on what matters – lessons and materials are already prepared in Compass, allowing you to focus on tutoring and nurturing rather than planning resources.
* Grow and develop – accelerate your skills through hands‑on tutoring and ongoing development programmes.
* Work in a supportive team – thrive in a collaborative, close‑knit team where passionate tutors work together to deliver exceptional learning.
