A pivotal aspect of the commissioning of our live data centre projects is the collation and organisation of all technical documentation. The role will require dedicated collection of all technical documentation as part of the testing, commissioning and handover phase. Ensure accuracy, distribution, compliance, version control, confidentiality and maintenance of documentation for retrieval.
The role will require you to work as a collaborative member of the team – facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practice to the wider team, clients and other project stakeholders. Maintain responsibility for your own performance, and continually develop skills and knowledge. Assist as required with general administration, and drive improvements within the document control scope.
Main Responsibilities
1. To ensure all technical files/drawings are filed and named correctly.
2. Collate and develop testing packs and technical handover packs.
3. To ensure technical files/drawings are pushed through the project workflow correctly and in a timely manner.
4. Expedite late documentation from clients, suppliers, internal and external consultants. Specifically, all technical handover information and testing documentation.
5. To ensure markups and comments can be uploaded and reviewed by all.
6. To promote collaboration between clients, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.
7. To ensure the correct groups and individuals are notified of files/drawings which require their attention.
8. And to make sure that people aren’t being notified of files/drawings irrelevant to them.
9. Introduce a process to assign specific files/drawings to the relevant individuals for review.
10. To ensure the workflow and review process is simple to use and effective for the project, reducing rather than increasing workload.
11. Responsible for collation of technical/commissioning documentation at project handover.
12. Download and publish documents/drawings in accordance with project procedures as agreed with the relevant Technical Project Manager.
13. Track all incoming and outgoing technical documentation, including logging in registers and issuing document transmittals.
14. Expedite late documentation from clients and subcontractors.
Qualifications
Relevant for the role.
Knowledge
Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability in areas of engineering/manufacturing.
Excellent people and communication management skills.
Experience
Relevant experience in similar roles is preferred.
