We're looking for an organised and confident Admin Assistant to join our Police Resourcing team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You'll be part of a supportive group helping to recruit officers, transferees and staff to meet workforce plans. You'll play a key role in helping process applications, supporting candidates through the recruitment journey, and ensuring we deliver a high‑quality service to our client. You'll work as part of a friendly, supportive, process‑driven team. We'll buddy you up, provide training on internal systems and procedures, and help you grow your confidence in a professional, structured environment. This role requires SC and NPPV2 clearance. The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week in our Newport centre of excellence and the rest working from home. Start and finish times are flexible within core hours (8am-6pm) working on a rotating shift pattern. What you'll be doing: Processing a variety of administrative tasks in line with procedures, business rules and quality standards. Managing functional mailboxes, responding to routine queries and escalating non‑routine cases as needed. Supporting the recruitment process from application through to offer, including telephony/outbound calls during busy periods. Updating databases, maintaining accurate records and preparing documentation for audit purposes. Scheduling and prioritising your daily tasks while supporting wider team workload when required. Printing, posting and distributing reports, data and information to internal and external stakeholders. What you'll bring: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping. Good communication skills Ability to navigate Microsoft Outlook and confidence working with spreadsheets (Excel experience an advantage - training available). A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work both independently and within a structured team. Customer‑focused behaviour with the ability to build rapport and handle difficult conversations professionally. Consistent application of procedures and the ability to follow defined processes. It would be great if you had: Experience in administration, customer service or a process‑driven environment. Confidence using Excel functions such as V‑lookups or pivot tables. Experience working with internal systems or databases.
