Here’s what you will be doing
Energy Infrastructure Services (EIS), part of E.ON UK, consists of multiple functions including Commercial, Operations, Lighting and Grid, Strategy Growth & Compliance, and Go to Market.
The role holder provides support for the management of regulatory, industry, and policy expertise and advice on behalf of EIS.
Working as a Regulatory and Policy Analyst within the EIS Compliance Team, providing analytical support to the EIS Regulation Lead and the EIS Policy Manager within the Strategy team.
Responsibilities can include
* Providing consistent, accurate, and effective regulatory, industry, and policy advice/guidance to EIS in a challenging and rapidly evolving business environment.
* Building effective relationships across EIS and with other Regulatory/Policy teams within E.ON UK.
* Horizon scanning and communication of relevant industry, regulatory, and policy proposals and decisions, and how these outcomes are threats or opportunities for EIS. Delivery of a no-surprises framework.
* Providing internal briefings – written and oral; translating new or amended licences, industry obligations, and policy into what they mean for the business. This is to ensure key stakeholders have a full understanding of the industry, policy, and regulatory landscape required to inform their strategic and tactical decisions.
* Delivering efficient and coordinated communication channels to and from the industry and within the appropriate areas of the business, regarding industry and policy change and compliance.
* When required, representing EIS externally, including with key regulatory, industry, and consumer stakeholders.
* Coordinating responses to regulatory/industry changes, consultations, requests for information, and representing EIS’s best interests.
* Providing analytical support to develop a clear explanation of the causal effects of regulatory, policy, and industry changes on EIS.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and industry agreements, including but not limited to: Gas and Electricity Acts, Gas and Electricity licenses and conditions (including the development of Heat Regulations), Exemptions from licences, and Industry Codes.
What we need from you
* Experience of the regulatory and political landscape relevant to the Energy Industry.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence change at a senior management level.
* Good knowledge of industry codes and practices.
* Proven ability to translate compliance requirements into measures and language easily understandable by operations and front-line staff.
* Evidence of regulatory understanding and interpretation.
* Experience in risk and opportunity management and reporting, with attention to detail to ensure accuracy, and the ability to simplify complex information.
* Strong influencing and communication skills, able to develop rapport and credibility with stakeholders.
* Experience delivering compliance objectives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
