Overview
We are Pierre Victoire, a popular and busy 100-cover restaurant, open 7 days/week for lunch/dinner. Serving French cuisine, and cooking traditionally (here there will be no heatlamps, microwaves, boil in the bag ready meals! We cook traditionally and with love. We are full during peak periods - sometimes 300 covers on weekend (lunch & dinner).
We are seeking a sous chef that would thrive in our traditional kitchen.
This is a great role for someone with passion and competence that is looking to make an impact, lead, direct and grow. It will have moments of intensity and stress - more than you might get at quiet restaurants. People love working here because this is traditional but creative cooking, and the restaurant is very much loved by our clients - making it always busy and exciting in the kitchen.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to support our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, demonstrating expertise in food preparation and kitchen management. As the Sous Chef, you will be jointly responsible with head chef for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Duties
* Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
* Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current food trends while catering to customer preferences.
* Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to within the kitchen.
* Supervise food preparation processes, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish served.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
* Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain stock without over-ordering.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
Skills
* Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising kitchen staff.
* In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Proven experience as a cook or chef within a restaurant environment.
* Exceptional culinary skills with a creative flair for menu development.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
