Job Title: Field Performance Manager - Mechanical and Electrical

We are currently recruiting for a Field Performance Manager - Mechanical & Electrical to be responsible for the performance and effectiveness of a team of highly skilled mechanics and electricians within Hampshire. Your role will ensure the team maintains assets (both planned and reactive) to optimise operational performance, following all policies and procedures to remain safe, compliant, and cost-effective.

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager within the Water Resource & Production function, you will manage around 14 Mechanical and Electrical technicians, with direct reports, and oversee a budget of up to £800K annually. You will be a strong leader, focusing on driving team performance and efficiency, with 60% of your time dedicated to leadership and 40% to operational management and resolving technical issues.
After completing your training, you will participate in our Field Event Coordinator rota, covering 1 in 6 standby shifts. An additional bonus will be paid for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build, lead, and direct an effective team to meet compliance, service levels, and targets
* Integrate asset processes to ensure consistency, improve data quality, and inform investment decisions
* Drive team and individual performance, focusing on productivity, utilization, device compliance, and quality
* Monitor operational performance and take corrective actions as necessary
* Coordinate with external contractors on site works and manage their activities
* Ensure safety procedures are followed and health and safety regulations are complied with
* Coach, mentor, develop, and manage team performance, emphasizing employee engagement
* Manage external regulatory relationships and represent the company in media interactions
* Handle events and incidents within your team and operational area, including out-of-hours support
To succeed, you should be a strong leader with a solid understanding of operational processes linked end-to-end, particularly in mechanical and electrical disciplines. It is highly desirable to hold NVQ Level 3 and BTECH Level 3 qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Your proactive and self-starting attitude, combined with technical expertise, will drive improvements to keep our sites operational without interruptions.
