Stress Liaison Service Engineer (FAR) – GAC Farnborough

About Our Group: We are a regional service center supporting our customers on multiple lines of our Gulfstream aircraft for ongoing maintenance and support. We are a global company where our R&D through delivery to customers is done in the United States, but we provide continued customer support around the globe.
Essential Functions
* Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating important engineering projects.
* Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
* Uses advanced techniques and modified extensions of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
* Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
* Works under limited supervision; the work must meet accuracy and consistency with overall objectives.
* Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area.
Additional Functions
* Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
* Maintains current knowledge of developments in specialty aircraft fields to recommend innovations that improve quality and effectiveness of company products.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* The engineer selected for this role will work with 20+ different Gulfstream aircraft models at any given time. The ideal candidate has experience in post‑production liaison or stress, MRB, or concession stress engineering. Daily activities include hangar floor liaison duties and stress analysis in support of structural repair, rework, and alteration. Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR-Chapter 1, Part 25) and other certification related activities for FAA and foreign aviation airworthiness will be actively utilized. This position will also utilize 14CFR 145 repair station activities and aircraft repair as performed per 14CFR43 or UKCAA/EASA familiarity.
Other Requirements
* Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
* Bachelor's Degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job in a specific technical discipline, or broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with a Bachelors.
* Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters, 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Preferred Skills
* Experience creating 2D repair drawings.
* Familiarity with, and prior usage and application of, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis techniques and software.
* Skill in the development and analysis of composite repairs.
* Prior experience with Gulfstream aircraft.
* FAA DER or ODA unit member for 14CFR25 related aircraft structures.
* Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
