Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Planner to work with Energy at our Leeds office (LS9 OHY) as part of our delivery of the Great Grid partnership (GGP). This project is currently mobilising the project teams to support early works, including DCO support, ahead of site commencement in mid-2027. The works are split between our regional office in Stone Cross (Warrington), with GGP support in Birmingham and Leeds. Once the site is mobilised, teams will be based on-site in and around Chesterfield and Lincolnshire. Construction is planned from mid-2027 to mid-2031.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner:
* Assimilate information and summarise it for effective communication of work scope.
* Prepare a resourced programme, reviewing it for conformance with expectations.
* Contribute to the risk register and undertake risk analysis.
* Create visual materials supporting planned methods.
* Manage project documentation systematically.
* Define methods and outputs in consultation with team members and supply chain.
* Coordinate with design engineers to establish temporary works briefs.
* Provide justified schedules of temporary works and indirect costs to the estimator.
* Participate in bid review meetings to clarify work scope and delivery plans.
* Contribute to handover meetings with clear work scope and tasks.
* Advise project teams on feedback reports and support requirements in consultation with the estimator.

* Experience with Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects.
* Desirable experience with National Grid, Substations, Overhead Lines, HV Plant, or HV Cables.
* Proficiency with planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
* Experience with planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
* Understanding of commercial and contractual planning interfaces.
* Must be based within commuting distance of Leeds with travel to sites as needed.
