Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant – Specialist Setting
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Salary: £89–£100 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)

This warm, welcoming specialist setting in Newcastle is on the lookout for a brilliant BSL-trained Teaching Assistant to support children with complex needs, including hearing impairments and ASD.
You’ll be part of a nurturing team that genuinely understands the power of communication, and you'll be key in helping pupils thrive both in and out of the classroom.
What your day might look like:
* 1:1 or small group support using BSL
* Helping pupils navigate routines and engage in lessons
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and therapists
* Creating a calm, supportive learning space that helps students shine
What we’re looking for:
* BSL Level 1 or above
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
* A calm, confident presence and lots of patience
* Someone ready to roll up their sleeves and make a real difference
