Our commitment to fair pay: We invest annually in our front-line workers’ pay aligned with the Living Wage increases each April. If you start with us between now and 31 March, your pay will be £13.74/hour, increasing to £14.42/hour from 1 April.
About the Role & Support:
This role is based in Barrow, supporting one individual with learning disabilities requiring 24-hour care. The person uses a wheelchair, communicates via pen and paper or Lite Writer, and enjoys activities like visiting coffee shops, shopping, walking, and using public transport. The service is a ground-floor flat near the town center, and this is a female-only staff service due to its nature.
Typical shifts are 10am-10pm with sleep-in duties.
Candidate Values & Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 in Social Care and experience in mental health, autism, sensory communication, and physical health. If you lack a qualification, relevant social care experience is necessary.
You should connect well with people, be passionate about supporting independence, and willing to mentor colleagues. We will provide specialist training, including Positive Behaviour Support.
During recruitment, you will meet the individuals we support in their home to understand their personalities and needs.
