Overview
As a Graphic Designer you will have (at least three years) experience of working within a similar corporate design environment, a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Office to support colleagues throughout the bid process; producing visual and creative content for client facing reports, presentations and other supporting collateral in order to win new business and retain existing clients.
You will be joining a high-paced in-house team responsible for developing creative solutions from inception to completion in line with brand guidelines. The position is very hands-on, requiring a flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure on a stand-alone basis or in collaboration with design colleagues in order to get opportunities over the line.
An excellent eye for detail and the ability to follow brand guidelines whilst working on numerous deadlines at once is crucial.
Responsibilities
* Producing new business proposals and presentations from concept to completion in accordance with our corporate branding including creating specific diagrams, amending and updating existing diagrams, infographics, layouts and preparation of interactive and print ready PDF’s for client submission.
* Collaborating with other design colleagues, co-working on projects, developing ideas and giving/receiving feedback on projects.
* Working with bid management colleagues, providing advice, ensuring the design brief is clear and relevant to ensure that the end product exceeds expectations.
* Collaborating and strategising with colleagues during kick-off meetings in order to build compelling, on-brand mood boards, cover options and report layouts for bid proposal and presentation documents.
* Act as a brand ambassador advocating the correct use of the brand with internal colleagues.
* Handling your own workload by maintaining and prioritising deadlines to deliver accurate, high quality work on time. Be a proactive problem solver who can work to tight deadlines under pressure.
* Project handle your workload by updating relevant bid management tools and content library. Updating job tracking systems and time keeping worksheets.
* Keep abreast of new design trends and software developments to continuously improve quality of design output wherever you can and sharing with wider design team.
* Liaising with external suppliers, such as print houses, ensuring quality of finalised documents meets exact requirements as specified.
Skills and experience
* Solid experience of a similar design role within a corporate environment.
* Advanced Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and advanced or intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Powerpoint).
* Demonstrate creativity with an eye for design and layout and the ability to develop concepts to enhance results whilst adhering to the company’s brand.
* Ability and confidence to work on multiple jobs under pressure and to deadlines with a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues across all job levels in order to understand requirements and how these can be met through innovative thinking and design.
* Excellent writing skills for collecting requirements and communicating designs ideas.
* Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
* Ability to work accurately, clarifying working instructions and working to deadlines.
* Degree or equivalent experience (or similar in design related field) preferable – although candidates with suitable work experience and strong portfolio will be considered.
* Experience with shooting and editing video (Premiere), as well as animation (After Effects) would be an advantage (but not necessary). Similarly, experience of working on microsites/SharePoint sites for client RFP’s would be an advantage (but not necessary).
