Salary: £55,000–£60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Reporting to: Director of Property Management & Compliance

About Ark

Ark is a new generation of co-living, designed for people who want more from where they live.

With thoughtfully designed private studios, exceptional shared spaces, and curated community

experiences, Ark offers a smarter, more social way to live in the city.

Our mission is to create places that feel like home from day one, where comfort, connection,

and convenience come together under one roof. From wellness studios and pools to co-working

lounges and cinema rooms, every Ark location is designed to enhance daily life with services,

support, and community-built in.

We're growing fast, with multiple sites across London, and building a team of passionate,

values-led professionals who care about the resident experience just as much as we do.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Senior Engineer to join us at an exciting time of

growth. Starting with responsibility for Ark Canary Wharf and Ark Wembley, and reporting into

the Director of Property Management & Compliance, this role will be pivotal in ensuring the

smooth operation of all building systems and amenities.

This is a sole contributor role there are no direct reports but the Senior Engineer will play a key

part in shaping how engineering is delivered across our portfolio, as we continue to expand and

build a wider in-house engineering team.

Why This Role Matters

This isn't just another maintenance role. The Senior Engineer is central to delivering the kind of

experience Ark promises smooth, seamless, and stress-free living.

You'll be the person who keeps the building running behind the scenes — ensuring everything

from the gym and pool to the heating and hot water systems are safe, reliable, and maintained

to the highest standard.

As we scale, this role sets the tone for how our engineering and maintenance model is delivered

across all current and future Ark properties. Your attention to detail, proactive mindset, and

pride in your work will directly shape how residents experience life at Ark — and will help us

deliver on our promise of beautiful living, brilliantly run.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across mechanical
* and fabric systems (excluding electrical, which remains with an external provider)
* Act as the engineering lead at Canary Wharf and Wembley, ensuring the highest standards
* of maintenance, safety, and resident experience
* Maintain all resident-facing amenities, including wellness studio, gym, sauna, and swimming
* pool; communal kitchens, lounges, coworking spaces, and cinema rooms
* Ensure optimal operation and upkeep of all mechanical plant, HVAC, water services,
* drainage, and internal finishes
* Ensure all statutory compliance, routine inspections, and building safety checks are
* completed and recorded
* Coordinate and liaise with specialist contractors (e.g. fire safety, lifts, electrical, water
* treatment)
* Respond promptly to reactive works, ensuring minimal disruption to residents
* Use Ark's CAFM system to log tasks, keep asset records updated, and manage PPM
* schedules
* Support the mobilisation of new sites, contributing to service setup, documentation
* reviews, and technical handover processes
* Work closely with the wider property, compliance, and community teams to maintain a
* high-quality, safe, and resident-friendly environment

What We're Looking For

* Strong mechanical/building services background with a multi-skilled approach
* Proven experience in a residential, co-living, hotel, or hospitality environment
* Recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent)
* Deep understanding of HVAC, water systems,
* drainage, and fabric maintenance
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of building performance
* Comfortable working independently and managing multiple sites
* Good communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
* Tech-confident, able to use CAFM and mobile reporting systems

Desirable Skills & Experience

* Experience with pool plant and wellness facilities
* Familiarity with new build mobilisation and post-completion technical checks
* Understanding of water hygiene, fire safety systems, and energy efficiency
* IOSH or equivalent health and safety certification

What You'll Get

* Competitive salary
* 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays + your birthday off every year
* Workplace pension scheme
* Private healthcare with dental and optical coverage
* A chance to join ARK at an exciting early stage and help shape how we operate long term
* Responsibility and ownership over two flagship sites, with more to follow
* Supportive leadership and a values-driven culture
* Opportunities to grow your career as our in-house team expands
* Mental wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Program
* Partner discounts and member perks
* Regular team socials and a genuinely supportive, inclusive environment
