Frimley Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a dedicated Porter Manager to join our busy team in Frimley. As Porter Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient patient transfer service which supports our clinical colleagues and overall patient experience. Please note that this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the post.
Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Portering service across all designated Trust sites.
* Assess risks and implement site-wide safety measures and processes.
* Develop and maintain Portering staff rotas, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
* Carry out appraisals and oversee sickness reports within the Portering team.
* Generate reports electronically and in written form and present data to wider Trust and NHS forums.
* Uphold NHS values and deliver a high standard of service.

Person Specification
Essential
* Education: A level or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
* Management or leadership qualification (e.g., ILM Level 3 or equivalent)
* Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely)
Experience
* Experience in supervising or managing a team in a facilities or support services environment
* Experience in staff rostering and resource allocation
* Experience in performance monitoring and reporting
* Experience in budget management or cost control
Desirable
* Previous experience working within the NHS or a large complex organisation
* Experience in implementing service improvements or change management
* Experience in waste management and sustainability initiatives
* Knowledge of NHS standards for portering and facilities services
Skills & Knowledge
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with staff at all levels
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, infection control, and manual handling regulations
