Job Summary
Westrop Medical Practice are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to fulfil a role within our expanding busy reception team at Blunsdon Surgery. This part‑time position is for 22 hours per week.
This role involves daily face‑to‑face and telephone contact with patients, arranging appointments and following up on patient‑related tasks. The practice aims to develop the role by offering further training to the right candidate to support and navigate patients to the most appropriate care for their needs.
Applicants should have previous experience in a primary care setting, excellent communication skills and strong computer literacy. A caring, friendly and diplomatic disposition is a must.

Job Description
Position: Receptionist/Administrator – Blunsdon Surgery
Responsible to: Assistant Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Booking and updating appointments.
* Dealing with incoming calls from patients, doctors and hospital departments.
* Providing patients with prescriptions upon collection.
* Liaising with patients, doctors and hospital departments.
* Providing administrative support to the practice as appropriate.
Special Requirements:
* Strict confidentiality and adherence to NHS policies.
* Judgement, resourcefulness and common sense.
* Proactive approach to change.
* Ability to work additional and flexible hours.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Face‑to‑face customer service experience.
* Telephone call handling experience.
* Experience using computer systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a GP practice.
* Previous reception or customer service experience.
Skills and Attributes: High attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, flexible approach, team player capable of working without direct supervision.
