Overview
Advanced Pharmacist (Antimicrobial Specialist) role at Hywel Dda University Health Board. Lead the antimicrobial stewardship strategy within Prince Philip Hospital and contribute to antimicrobial resistance initiatives. Location: Swansea/Carmarthenshire area, Wales.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and coordinate a patient-focused clinical pharmacy service on general medical wards, with potential development of pharmacist-led clinics.
* Lead antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, including local and national audits and feedback, contributing to and implementing local and national antimicrobial prescribing guidelines.
* Work with Medicines Management Team, Consultant Microbiologists and other antimicrobial pharmacists to deliver stewardship across the hospital.
* Support education and training of healthcare workers in antimicrobial stewardship; contribute to Welsh Government targets.
* Monitor financial expenditure, undertake research and service improvement, and support core pharmacy services on wards and in the dispensary.
* Balance duties: approximately half time on antibiotic-related tasks and the remainder on other clinical duties.
* Participate in weekend and on-call rota as required.

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain excellent prioritization, time management and initiative.
Qualifications
* GPhC-registered Pharmacist; Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent).
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills; ability to work independently and manage priorities.
