About the role
Learning Pool is seeking a Director of Professional Services to join the growing team. This is a critical leadership role directly responsible for increasing the enterprise value of the company by making a material impact on the productivity, efficiency, and quality of Professional Services. This is both an operationally and commercially-focused role.
What you will be doing
Roles and responsibilities include:
* Achieve Contribution Margins: Consistently deliver contribution margins for Professional Services (PS) through effective financial and operational strategies.
* Utilisation and Tracking: Develop and execute world-class utilisation strategies, ensuring precise tracking of team performance and resource allocation.
* Organisational Optimization: Evolve the PS organisation's structure and cost efficiency by leveraging On Demand Talent (ODT) and On Demand Projects (ODP).
* Process Improvement and Standardization: Enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality by implementing professional and lean PMO practices, standardising methodologies, and developing templates to accelerate project delivery.
* Customer Self-Sufficiency: Collaborate with Product Management to reduce services dependency and increase customer self-sufficiency by driving innovative strategies.
* Technology Adoption: Ensure 100% adoption and effective use of Professional Services Automation tools to streamline processes and improve operational performance.
* Agile Forecasting: Establish and maintain a weekly agile forecasting methodology to ensure accuracy and adaptability in project planning and execution.
* Time-to-Value Improvements: Drive improved time-to-value (TTV) for customers by leading cross-functional initiatives and creating new packages and templates that accelerate results.
* M&A Integration: Lead the evaluation, planning, and execution of Professional Services integration for acquisitions to ensure seamless transitions and achievement of target outcomes.
* Leadership and Talent Development: Foster organisational growth by building a high-potential talent model, implementing robust training programs, and creating clear career paths to support horizontal and vertical development.
Who we are looking for:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Proven experience: You will be an expert at leading and motivating a global team of professional services team members with proven success at growing ARR and delivering on positive contribution. As well as this you will be an expert at forecasting, leading risk management, scope control and change management.
* Commercially driven: You will be skilled at collaborating with sales teams to ensure competitiveness and accelerate sales cycles, specifically through PS packages and value differentiation. As well as this you will have expertise working with teams to deliver organic growth and leveraging services offerings to drive expansions with existing customers, win new logos, influence product roadmap
* Analytically focused: You will have expertise at generating and tracking relevant productivity and quality metrics for professional services with a willingness to go deep in details and be close to the business and teams to proactively spot potential issues, misses, or bad forecasts
* Leadership: You will have proven experience providing clarity and driving teams to deliver on priorities as well as being decisive when it comes to decision making to ensure your team can work at their productive best.
* Communications: You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to demonstrate daily clarity and cascading communications to ensure the team hears and understands the mission, priorities, and their role in achieving them
Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have the following experience:
* A private equity mindset and approach, prioritising the creation of tangible enterprise value.
