Job Title: Senior Dental Nurse (Band 5)
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Restorative Three Department at Birmingham Dental Hospital for a permanent Band 5 Senior Dental Nurse.
Role Overview
The post holder must be an experienced Dental Nurse with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills. You will work closely with Dental Nurse Managers, Dental Matrons, and Clinical Leads, with responsibilities including managing and developing the Dental Nurse Team to ensure the smooth operation of the service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the clinical specialty to ensure high standards of patient care and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
2. Engage in chairside activities and support the Dental Nurse Manager and Senior Dental Nurses in training and service development.
3. Educate and develop dental nursing teams to meet the complex needs of patients across the service.
4. Manage a team and utilize discretion in clinical and staffing issues.
5. Line management of Band 4 Dental Nurses and supervision of Dental Nurse Apprentices.
6. Manage budgets related to stock control, dental consumables, and equipment procurement.
