Business Development & Marketing Executive

About the Role
This is a pivotal role designed to enhance the business development and marketing performance of the Contracting division and wider group. You’ll be involved across the full spectrum of identifying tender opportunities, writing compelling bid content, supporting digital marketing, and helping the business grow through strategic engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Identify suitable tender opportunities using Barbour ABI, tender portals, planning platforms, and other resources
Track and develop new business opportunities to support ambitious growth targets
Produce high-quality pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and quality submissions
Coordinate technical input for bids and build a structured bid library and image bank
Develop project case studies that capture key successes and USPs
Create engaging marketing content for use across digital platforms, brochures, and presentations
Support group-wide SEO and PPC campaigns in collaboration with the marketing function
Generate new leads via client contact, networking, and market analysis
Organise stakeholder meetings, presentations, and seminars to promote company services
Maintain and strengthen existing relationships, working closely with internal teams
Manage and evolve the telesales process in line with business needs
Administer supply chain accreditation and maintain procurement portals
Ensure quality and version control within the Business Management System
Candidate Profile
Minimum 2 years’ experience in business development, marketing, or bid writing within construction or a similar sector
Strong understanding of the construction industry and ability to spot tender opportunities
Confident communicator with experience in cold calling and customer engagement
Excellent written and verbal English, with strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word)
Experience working independently and collaboratively with varied stakeholders
Ideally holds a marketing qualification (desirable but not essential)
