A bit about us.
Grind is a coffee company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've expanded across London with cafés, coffee trucks and a state‑of‑the‑art coffee roastery.
Our cafés and coffee shops are the beating heart of Grind, they are where it all began. We're a bustling hub in the heart of London's most iconic places, known for serving our specialty coffee and renowned bottomless brunches.
We think coffee can be a force for good. Whether it's through creating the UK's first compostable coffee pods, our plastic‑free packaging or carbon‑free shipping, we're on a mission to be the world's most sustainable coffee company.
In 2023, we created our charity, the Better Coffee Foundation, to undo the damage done by the global coffee industry – in our first year, we recovered 43 million pods' worth of ocean‑bound plastic.
A bit about the role.
We are looking for an experienced Bar Manager who enjoys crafting classical drinks with contemporary twists and leading a team of aspiring bar mixologists. At GRIND, we are primarily brunch‑led, offering a vibrant daytime atmosphere alongside a selection of classics, coffee cocktails and guest cocktails. We’re all about great energy, excellent drinks and delivering standout experiences, but without the late‑night finishes, offering a role with genuine lifestyle balance. We are looking for energetic and passionate people to join the Grind Crew in one of our Central London locations.
As Bar Manager, you will lead a high‑performing bar operation in a fast‑paced, high‑volume hospitality environment. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service, driving sales, achieving targets and ensuring cocktail consistency and quality at all times. You will train, support and develop the team to uphold GRIND bar standards, while also overseeing the coffee department. This role requires strong coffee knowledge and specialty coffee experience, with responsibility for maintaining high standards of coffee quality, consistency and training. You will lead a team of Bartenders and Baristas, taking ownership of their day‑to‑day management, development and overall performance.
