Full time permanent role Required from 1st September 2026 ‘Parkside Middle School welcomes everyone. Staff forge great working relationships with pupils and provide high quality pastoral care. Pupils’ behaviour meets the high standards set for them. There is a calm and purposeful atmosphere in classrooms and corridors. Pupils are well mannered. They become confident, articulate young people, well prepared for high school.’ (Ofsted February 2025) Parkside Middle School is a thriving, vibrant, middle (deemed secondary) school for pupils aged 9-13 in the heart of Bromsgrove. We are committed to providing the highest quality of education that enables pupils to excel academically, through the delivery of strong specialist teaching. We pride ourselves on success in developing pupils’ character, so they become socially and emotionally aware, confident young people. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated History Teacher who is passionate about igniting curiosity and fostering a love of History. As a History Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and encouraging pupils to think independently, critically and objectively about the world around them. We believe that the study of history engages pupils and broadens their outlook of the world, cultures and political narratives. By engaging with complex and emotive issues from the past, pupils are led to draw relevant and contemporary parallels; our pupils look at the evidence provided to them and to freely come to their own judgements and opinions. You will help to develop and deliver an innovative and progressive curriculum which is supported by a programme of extracurricular and enrichment activities, that ensures that all students—regardless of background or ability—are inspired to achieve their full potential. You will work positively and collaboratively within the department and collectively develop and improve all aspects of teaching and learning in this area. We are looking for an inspirational candidate who has had experience working in KS2 and/or KS3. The ideal candidate will be someone who sets high expectations for children, makes learning engaging and enjoyable, ensures that every child is valued and is supported to take opportunities to reach their potential. This is a fantastic opportunity, and the post would be suitable for early career teachers, who would be able to benefit from our successful and supportive ECT Induction Programme. You will have: Energy, enthusiasm, creativity and talent. Motivation and high expectations for achievement. A desire to make a positive difference to the lives of the pupils, form strong relationships and ensure that potential is realised. Commitment to working as part of a team and in partnership with parents. In return we can offer you: A modern environment for teaching and learning. A positive, welcoming and supportive community of ambitious and dedicated staff, children, parents and governors, where respect and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. The opportunity to teach alongside talented teachers delivering lessons to consistently high standards. Well behaved, friendly pupils who are eager to learn. Excellent induction and a strong commitment to your career and professional development. An opportunity to work in a school that is part of a secure pyramid of schools, working exceptionally closely with feeder first schools and high schools and the Spire Trust Learning Partnership. CV’s will not be accepted. Informal visits to the school are both welcomed and encouraged, and prospective applicants should contact the Business Manager by email or telephone to request an information pack or to arrange a suitable time for a visit. Email office@parkside.worcs.sch.uk Tel 01527 873660 Web www.parkside.worcs.sch.uk Closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday, 13th May 2026 Interviews to be held on Thursday, 21st May 2026 Safeguarding statement: Parkside Middle School an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and the PREVENT strategy and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
