About Pinetree Lodge
Pinetree Lodge supports older adults with a diagnosis of dementia who, because of this organic brain disease, have behaviors that challenge which means they are unable to live in the wider community. Our team of experienced Registered Nurses & Support Workers led by Clinical Leads work closely to undertake assessments in order to provide person centered therapeutic interventions to minimize any risks associated with these behaviors. For our dementia care services, we believe passionately in providing good care to people with dementia and their families. We also believe that it is entirely possible for a person with dementia to live a good quality and meaningful life. About you / Responsibilities
* We work with older adults with dementia who may present with behaviors that challenge; undertake assessments and provide person-centered therapeutic interventions to minimize risks
* Maintain a supportive, safe environment and work as part of a team led by Clinical Leads and qualified nursing staff
* Support residents to maintain meaning, relationships, self-esteem, independence and involvement with local communities
* Strive to keep residents at the center of care with warmth, optimism and a genuine desire to help
* Ensure high standards of care and contribute to a homely, relaxed atmosphere in well-equipped facilities
Qualifications
* NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse or RNLD with relevant mental health experience and a valid pin
* Newly qualified Mental Health nurses are welcome to apply
* Experience of working with people who have complex mental health problems and who can present with behaviours that challenge
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Genuine desire to care for this client group with a person-centered approach
* Empathic attitude and alignment with our values
* Flexibility; shift patterns include weekends and nights, and you may be required to work at either service based on needs
