Senior Social Worker (Integrated Neighbourhood team)
Join Manchester City Council as a Senior Social Worker within the Integrated Neighbourhood team.
Working Details
* Working hours: 35 hours per week.
* Contract type: Temporary until 30 April 2026, full-time.
* Additional payments: Essential Car User Allowance.

Qualifications
* Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
* Medical clearance – pre‑placement health assessment.
* Valid full driving licence and personal vehicle (essential car user).
* DBS clearance – enhanced disclosure required.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to individuals and families, identify cases and manage caseloads to secure positive outcomes.
* Lead partnership approaches for safeguarding, manage safeguarding risk and record and share information.
* Use joined‑up approaches to ensure individuals access appropriate services.
* Support team and service leadership, advising colleagues and contributing to staff development.
* Provide professional oversight and supervision to social workers, care assessors and other staff.
* Support the Team Manager in maintaining service quality and relationships with Council services and external partners.
* Ensure safe delivery of social care, manage statutory responsibilities and maintain high‑quality standards.
* Manage safeguarding risk within a multi‑agency environment.
Additional Responsibilities
* Provide professional supervision to qualified and unqualified staff.
* Provide assessment and support to student social workers on placement.
* Commit to continuous self‑development and service improvement.
* Take responsibility for specific aspects of practice and leadership in the absence of the Team Manager.
* Support team performance in adult safeguarding, assessments and reviews.
