Women’s Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker An exciting opportunity for a Women’s Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker to deliver trauma-informed support, case management and therapeutic group work within a women’s criminal justice service, helping individuals rebuild their lives and reduce re-offending. If you’ve also worked in the following roles, we’d also like to hear from you: Female Support Worker, Criminal Justice Case Worker, Women’s Justice Practitioner, Probation Support Officer, Women’s Support Worker, Female Support Practitioner SALARY: £26,278 per annum Benefits LOCATION: Birmingham, West Midlands with travel across the Black Country JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Women’s Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker within a women-only criminal justice programme supporting individuals supervised by probation services. As a Women’s Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker you will deliver trauma-informed, gender-specific interventions including one-to-one support, group work, outreach and community engagement, using effective case management and safeguarding practice. Working collaboratively within a partnership model, the Women’s Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker will support women with multiple and complex needs including accommodation, finance, wellbeing, recovery and social inclusion, helping them build resilience and achieve sustainable change. DUTIES Your duties as the Women’s Specialist Criminal Justice Practitioner / Female Support Worker include: Case Management: Manage an active caseload, completing assessments, support plans and risk assessments using a trauma-informed approach One-to-One Support: Deliver personalised interventions that promote rehabilitation, social inclusion and reduced re-offending Group Facilitation: Plan and deliver therapeutic group work and psycho-social programmes that inspire engagement and change Outreach & Advocacy: Provide proactive outreach support, accompany individuals to appointments and act as an advocate where required Partnership Working: Build and maintain professional relationships with probation services and partner agencies across voluntary and statutory sectors Through-the-Gate Support: Engage with women pre-release and support transition into the community Safeguarding & Risk Management: Identify, assess and manage risk, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain accurate case records, update case management systems and contribute to performance reporting Community Asset Building: Support access to education, employment, accommodation and community resources Team Contribution: Participate in meetings, training and provide cover for colleagues as required CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Relevant degree or professional qualification (minimum NVQ Level 4) in a related field such as Criminology, Probation, Health and Social Care or Social Work Previous experience in working with women, particularly those with multiple and complex needs Experience within the criminal justice system or probation environment Experience of holding and managing an active caseload Experience of delivering group work and one-to-one interventions Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures Ability to complete assessments, care planning and risk assessments Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport Competent IT skills including case management systems and Microsoft Office Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Eligibility to work in the UK DESIRABLE PTTLS Level 3–4 or equivalent training qualification Experience of working with families and community organisations Prison clearance or ability to obtain security clearance Experience developing programme or learning materials BENEFITS Mileage allowance Training and development opportunities Employee Assistance Programme Access to group clinical supervision 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) Wellbeing day Pension scheme with employer contribution Time off in lieu for additional hours worked This role requires a DBS check and enhanced police checks APPLY TODAY… By submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.
