Skilled Careers are currently working with a long standing client who are looking to hire a Technical Manager to lead residential led projects in the south east, the Technical Manager will be office based with site visits.
The family owned developer have a history of delivering high-quality homes in the south east with a great work environment.
The Technical Manager should have experience in development/contracting and leading rc frame residential projects.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the preparation of the optimisation process through to sign off
2. Brief, manage and drive the external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information to an agreed programme
3. Prepare technical specifications in line with requirements determined by the Land Acquisition budget and Technical/Sales Meetings
4. Ensure all statutory enquiries, crossovers, sewer connections are submitted and pursued for their timely return
5. Oversee the NHBC/Building Regulations applications to approval
6. Ensure that working drawings are in accordance with the approved Planning Scheme
7. Preparation of Health & Safety Plans
8. Monitor and control all production information in close liaison with the Development Estimator to ensure tight cost controls are kept and information produced in line with budget estimates
9. Oversee preparation of Brochure Plans, Conveyance Plans and Sales Area drawings
10. Attend site progress meeting and carry out site inspections
11. Attend meetings at various stages of projects (Technical hand-over, Project Meeting, Optimisation, Technical/Sales, Budget Meetings, etc.)
12. General liaison and coordination between other parties, both internal and external
13. Attend Subcontractor interviews
14. Respond to site queries and resolve Technical/Construction items that may arise
Skills & requirements
15. Developer or main contractor experience essential
16. Experience of working on large multi-unit RC frame residential projects
17. Good/Excellent technical knowledge of both residential and commercial construction, together with a degree of flair for design
18. The experience or the ability to understand the complexities of complex mixed use Regeneration projects
19. A working knowledge of Building Regulations, Code for sustainable Homes, NHBC (or the Warranty Provider required), Party Wall Awards and associated legislation connected with the construction industry
20. To have good interpersonal communication, meeting and management skills essential in dealing with multi-disciplined teams
