Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Design Coordinator to work on the AMP8 United Utilities Project.
We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, and United Utilities, as well as for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water, and South East Water.
We also offer a full design, build, operate, and maintain service for Uisce Éireann, currently operating over 25 of their facilities to ensure efficient operation and full compliance with EPA regulations.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Design Coordinator
* Produce design briefs for multi-disciplinary station projects & temporary works
* Review submissions for quality and sufficiency as directed
* Update design folders and registers regularly
* Produce minutes and schedules for Design Review Meetings
* Assist team members such as CEM / QS / PM with engineering input as required
* Sketching / Drawing including CAD skills
* Initial awareness of temporary works, with further experience to be gained
* Maintain and issue correct drawings to sites in accordance with standards
* Coordinate/manage several small projects or large multi-disciplinary projects
* Communicate effectively and assertively to ensure timely design delivery
* Review and check designs for submission readiness
* Undertake small-scale in-house temporary design tasks

* Significant heavy civils experience, ideally in Utilities and water sectors
* Proficiency in surveying and setting out techniques, with ability to teach others
* Experience in managing and mentoring engineers
* Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation
* Full clean UK driving license
