System Safety Engineer (Contract) Overview An aerospace company in Wimborne is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer (Contract) to support ongoing safety-critical programmes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to technically challenging projects within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Support the development and assurance of safety-critical aerospace systems. Apply SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761 standards throughout the system lifecycle. Conduct system safety analyses and risk assessments in line with programme needs. Perform FTA, FHA, and FMEA safety assessments and document findings. Contribute to safety cases, reports, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate system hazards. Provide expertise in internal and customer-facing safety reviews. Required Qualifications & Experience Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 2 years' experience in System Safety Engineering (or closely related role). Demonstrable experience with: SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761 standards Safety analysis techniques (FTA, FHA, FMEA) Development of safety cases and compliance documentation Skills & Attributes Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain safety findings. Confident in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders. Methodical, detail-oriented, and adaptable to fast-paced project environments.
