Healthcare Assistant (Bank) – Ross Hall Hospital – Bank Shifts – Salary: Up to £12.50 per hour
Ross Hall Hospital, located in Glasgow, is part of Circle Health Group—Britain’s leading independent healthcare provider. We are recruiting a Healthcare Assistant for a bank role, working on an “as and when required” basis to cover busy periods, annual leave or absences.
Responsibilities
* Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility, respecting their preferences and dignity.
* Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, documenting intake when required.
* Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring environment.
* Record routine observations (blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, blood glucose) accurately after training.
* Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care set‑up, catheter care, pressure area prevention and mobility aids.
* Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds and equipment for patient use.
* Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists and administrative teams to support safe and efficient patient care.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community or domiciliary).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
* Ability to follow instructions and raise concerns appropriately.
* Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
* Physically capable of undertaking duties including moving and handling tasks.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.
