About the role

Gartner is seeking a Corporate Compliance and Ethics Expert (Director/Analyst). Gartner Analysts are experienced thought leaders who provide critical insights on executive‑level priorities for a broad range of global organizations. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, this Analyst will author pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. This Analyst will also be a trusted source of advice for clients, discussing complex client challenges and offering appropriate recommendations.

Specifically, the ideal candidate will be asked to author research for publication and support client conversations on:

* transforming and optimizing compliance functions and programs
* keeping pace with and understanding the impact of complex, changing regulatory environments on organizations’ business models and processes
* developing risk strategies and frameworks for compliance and regulatory risks
* leveraging data analytics to optimize compliance risk assessments and compliance monitoring

As a Gartner Analyst, you will engage with clients every day: on the phone, in videoconferences, and when requested, on stage at a Gartner event. To be effective in the role, you must:

* create insightful and actionable research for Chief Compliance Officers that is differentiated from information they would get from external sources
* remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas by understanding the broader ecosystem related to compliance programs, partnering with experts internally, and learning from our clients’ best practices
* maintain Gartner’s industry leadership reputation by thoughtfully responding to press inquiries when required

What you will need

* A minimum of 10+ years of compliance, legal, or regulatory experience, most recently as a deputy or divisional chief compliance officer/senior compliance leader
* Bachelor’s degree (preferably in economics, business or international studies) or equivalent experience. Post‑graduate law or economics degree preferred
* Experience in:
o Advising the leadership team/board of directors (or designated committee) on compliance priorities and providing actionable recommendations to support informed decision‑making
o Integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence into executive‑ready narratives and recommendations that support management decision needs
o Cross‑functional collaboration with Legal, ERM, Finance or Internal Audit
o Conducting compliance risk assessments and reporting
o Monitoring and analyzing new regulatory changes to ensure timely adaptation of internal policies and procedures
o Supporting corporate governance initiatives to ensure continued alignment with compliance standards and expectations
o Designing, implementing, and enhancing enterprise compliance frameworks, including development of policies and procedures, training, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms to ensure organizational integrity and consistency
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to adjust style to different audiences.
* Executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.
* Ability to navigate and thrive in a highly matrixed work environment
* Willingness to offer flexible working hours within reason to serve Gartner’s global client base
* Ability to travel on occasion for team offsites and Gartner conferences (<10% of the year)
