We are partnering with a global leader in warehouse automation and intralogistics solutions to appoint a Solutions Design Director. This organisation delivers large-scale, end-to-end automation projects across distribution, manufacturing, and e-commerce, combining advanced technologies, software, and lifecycle services.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving solution strategy, leading high-performing design teams, and shaping complex, integrated automation solutions for major customers.
Package:
- £100K - £115K + bonus + car + healthcare
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the solutions design function, setting technical direction, standards, and best practices.
* Own solution development for major bids, ensuring scalable, cost-effective, and innovative system designs.
* Partner with commercial teams to support client engagement and secure new business.
* Oversee the design of integrated systems (e.g., AS/RS, robotics, conveyors, AMRs/AGVs, sortation).
* Provide technical governance across the full lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
* Develop and mentor a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering team.
About You:
* Extensive experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, or systems integration.
* Proven leadership of solutions design teams on complex, high-value projects.
* Strong technical expertise across automated material handling and software-driven systems.
* Commercially astute, with experience supporting large bids and customer solutions.
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in engineering or a related field.
