Overview
The Rating team at WSP GL Hearn delivers specialist rating services to commercial real estate clients. As a valuer, you will provide accurate valuations for a variety of purposes, perform property inspections, write reports, and maintain client relationships.
Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day running of valuation instructions for Loan Security, Financial Accounting, Taxation, Probate, Strategic Asset Management, and more.
* Conduct property inspections and measured surveys.
* Perform standard property due diligence.
* Prepare valuations and write comprehensive reports.
* Represent and directly deal with clients, many of whom are large blue‑chip organisations.
* Maintain and improve client relationships by upholding quality standards.
* Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Stay current with valuation standards, best practices and market movements to enhance technical and market knowledge.
* Develop own business relationships, instructions, and clients both internally and externally.
Qualifications
* Full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with post‑qualification experience.
* RICS Registered Valuer status.
* Degree level education (or equivalent).
* Working knowledge of The RICS Red Book and Code of Measuring Practice.
* Good understanding of both the UK commercial and residential property markets.
* Well‑developed report writing skills and the ability to identify key issues impacting value and asset security.
* Knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Law is helpful.
* Proficiency in valuation software (KEL and Argus Developer) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Strong team mindset and willingness to undertake challenging, diverse workloads collaboratively.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to investigate market data and act on findings effectively.
* Strong desire to progressively advance your career within a global company.
* Effective time‑management skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
