About the Role As our Part-Time D1 Minibus Driver, you'll be responsible for: Safe Pupil Transport: Safely driving school minibuses (requiring a D1 category on your licence) to transport students on daily routes to and from school, as well as for educational trips, sports fixtures, and other school events. Vehicle Safety Checks: Conducting thorough daily and weekly vehicle checks to ensure the minibus is always roadworthy, clean, and well-maintained. Student Welfare: Adhering to all school safeguarding policies, ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of all pupils during transit. Flexible Hours: This is a part-time position, perfect for those seeking work during term-time with a consistent schedule (e.g., morning and afternoon routes). What We're Looking For Valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 (unrestricted) essential. Valid Driver CPC Qualification (unless exempt). Clean driving record and a strong commitment to road safety. Proven experience driving minibuses or similar vehicles, ideally in a school or passenger transport setting. Enhanced DBS Check: You must be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (or already hold one on the Update Service). Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible. Child-friendly demeanour: Patient, approachable, and responsible when interacting with children. Excellent communication skills. Familiarity with Blackburn and local routes is a plus.
