Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Elective Bookings Team Leader to join the General Surgery and Urology Waiting List Bookings Team at Frimley Park. This is an onsite role based at the Archipelago offices on Lyon Way, Frimley.

The postholder will work closely with all clinical areas to support the Trust's targets, i.e. referral to treatment and cancer targets and be responsible for the day to day management of the staff including induction, appraisal and initial performance management.

As a key member of the team, the postholder will play an integral role in supporting the Elective Bookings Team and ensuring the smooth and efficient management of patient pathways.


Main duties of the job

* To manage staff on a day to day basis including induction, appraisal and initial performance management.
* To support the Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for staff
* To support the Trust in delivering NHS targets.
* To respond in a timely fashion to all administrative duties within the team.
* To be multi‑skilled in your working role and able to assist in all areas of the department as and when required.
* To ensure strict confidentiality is maintained at all times in respect of correspondence received in the department and in accordance with Trust policy.
* To liaise with the Clinical team and Patient Pathway Co-ordinator/Service Manager to provide a high quality empathetic service and highlight any problems, working together as a customer focused team to solve issues that may arise.
* To ensure capacity is fully utilised and to escal ate when demand exceeds capacity available and there is a potential patient risk to performance and patient safety.
* To adhere to the Trust values of being committed to excellence, working together and facing the future.
* To attend specialty meetings for your lead specialty as and when required.
* Follow all Trust and local policies and procedures at all times.
* To deal with patient/staff complaints in a professional manner and try to resolve the issue before they become formal.
* To use Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams) effectively to support day‑to‑day operational, administrative, and reporting requirements.

Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of working within a team/office environment
* Working in the NHS either in a hospital/private practice/GP setting


skills /knowledge

* Ability to prioritise workload

* Ability to communicate clearly.
* Understanding of medical terminology
* Knowledge of NHS targets


Qualifications

* Good education GCSE standard or equivalent experience
* NVQ level 3 Admin or equivalent
