We are looking for an experienced, passionate sonographer to lead our Gynaecology Ultrasound service across Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG).
Job Summary
The role is the Gynaecology Sonographer Cross-site Lead, working within the Humber Health Partnership (HHP) and delivering gynaecology ultrasound services, training and education across NLAG sites with close collaboration with Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH).
Main Duties
* Uphold safe, effective service delivery within Gynaecological Ultrasound across NLAG, working closely with service/clinical leads.
* Undertake a wide variety of gynaecology ultrasound examinations, ensuring best clinical practice and optimal diagnostic imaging.
* Share responsibility for all aspects of the NLAG Ultrasound service with other Sonography Clinical Leads.
* Act as the NLAG Gynaecological lead, ensuring adherence to standards, providing feedback and support, monitoring departmental QA processes, and compliance with national standards and guidelines.
* Lead multidisciplinary image review sessions and liaise with Imaging Leads on quality improvement and training outcomes.
* Supervise and support training of staff within your sphere of ultrasound.
* Manage clinical governance, incident reporting and service audit to uphold imaging quality and patient safety.
* Coordinate departmental resources.
* Represent the service at Trust meetings, contributing to strategic planning and service improvement.
* Assist in overseeing staffing, sickness, appraisals, recruitment and performance monitoring.
* Ensure accurate documentation and data entry via hospital IT systems.
Qualifications and Experience
* Current HCPC registration or equivalent.
* Professional qualification and relevant background (e.g., BSc Radiography / Nursing).
* Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound / PG Cert in Gynaecological Ultrasound (CASE accredited or equivalent).
* MSc in Medical Ultrasound or working towards one.
* Managerial or leadership training.
Knowledge and Skills
* Extensive experience and knowledge of gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound.
* Experience of extended practice, e.g., hysterosalpingo contrast sonography.
Evidence of CPD
Ongoing commitment to continuing professional development in gynaecological ultrasound practice.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
