Job Title: Multiskilled Engineer Location: Fife Salary: Up to £44,000 DOE Contract Type: Permanent – 3 Shift Rotational Pattern Reports To: Engineering Manager Overview We are seeking a skilled and proactive Multiskilled Engineer to join a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring machinery and equipment operate at peak performance by delivering both reactive and preventative maintenance. You will be part of a team producing millions of kilograms of product annually, working to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement. This is a full-time role based on a weekly rotational 3-shift pattern (40 hours per week). Key Responsibilities Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems. Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs. Conduct inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and planned preventative maintenance. Support machinery installations and assist with machine changes and settings. Work closely with the engineering team and production staff to prioritise workloads. Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment status. Ensure compliance with safety standards, food safety requirements, and engineering policies. Manage spare parts and critical stock for production machinery. Follow shift handover procedures to ensure seamless engineering support. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance and minimise downtime. About You Time-served Electrical/Mechanical Engineer (HNC desirable). Previous experience within food or FMCG manufacturing. Strong technical ability across multiple engineering disciplines. Skilled in fault finding, problem-solving, and preventative maintenance. Organised with excellent planning and prioritisation skills. Positive “can-do” attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team. Strong communication skills with competent written and spoken English. Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems. Driving licence required; physically fit for hands-on engineering tasks
