About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Digital Photography with Art to join our vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for a passionate educator who can inspire students to explore visual storytelling, creative expression, and technical skills across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Digital Photography and Art, fostering creativity and technical proficiency
Teach a broad curriculum including composition, editing, visual communication, and contemporary art practices
Support students in developing portfolios and coursework for assessment
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration
Contribute to the wider Art department, including exhibitions, trips, and enrichment activities
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Art, Photography, or a related field
Experience teaching Art and/or Photography at secondary level
Strong knowledge of digital photography tools, software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop), and studio techniques
A passion for creative education and student development
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
