The Role

As a Community Safety Officer, you will champion a collaborative approach that places residents and community stakeholders at the heart of everything you do. You will use a trauma‑informed approach to help tenants build resilience and independence. You will also deliver early, supportive interventions designed to prevent anti‑social behaviour and cultivate thriving, secure neighbourhoods.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the Senior Community Safety Officer and Community Housing Manager in leading the effective and efficient delivery of community safety services across Trivallis.
* Managing and resolving high impact and high‑profile caseloads relating to anti‑social behaviour and tenancy breaches such as illegal activity, hate crime, and domestic abuse.
* Taking a victim‑centred and trauma‑informed approach to case management, including physical target hardening, restorative interventions, and signposting to support.
* Handling complaints, completing complainant and perpetrator interviews, using a range of investigation techniques, and constructing a detailed evidence base to progress cases.
* Utilising a range of evidence gathering methods such as CCTV and professional witnessing to produce evidence suitable for court and attending court to provide evidence and act as a professional witness.
* Using injunctions and the full range of enforcement tools and powers to stop serious and/or persistent anti‑social behaviour and occupation contract breaches.
* Developing and maintaining a close, joint working approach with multiple stakeholders, including identifying key referral pathways with health/mental health teams, South Wales Police, social care, and drug treatment providers.
* Developing a range of community safety projects and assisting in the delivery of funding bids with key stakeholders to effectively tackle community safety issues.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring substantial experience working in a housing environment or a more complex customer services role, with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively as part of a wider team. You will possess significant knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding duties, and enforcement tools, alongside substantial experience managing complex, high‑risk ASB cases. Your background must include experience preparing and presenting cases for legal action, including court attendance, as well as significant experience working collaboratively with police, health, local authorities, and support agencies. You will also have highly developed communication skills to engage and advocate for individuals, utilizing a victim‑centred and trauma‑informed approach to case management. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, alongside a willingness to work outside normal working hours.
