Bright Stars Pre-school, part of Long Mead Community Primary School in Tonbridge, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Pre-School Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team. You will work closely with class practitioners and SEN staff to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 2–5, including those with additional needs.
The post could be part time or full time, term time only (within the hours of 08:30 - 15:15 Monday to Friday) on a fixed term contract, initially for a year.
The salary is KS B. Full time equivalent salary £ £25,126 (per annum pro rata)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide targeted support to individual children or small groups
2. Assist in delivering engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
3. Support children with personal care and routines as needed
4. Foster positive relationships with children, staff and families
5. Contribute to a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
We are looking for someone who:
6. Has experience working with young children, ideally in a pre-school or nursery setting
7. Is calm, patient, and nurturing, with a passion for early years education
8. Understands the importance of play-based learning and child development
9. Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent) – desirable
10. Has experience supporting children with SEND – desirable
