We're looking for an experienced, proactive Finance Manager who can combine hands-on financial management with strategic insight, strong leadership, and a passion for driving operational excellence.
The Opportunity
In this key leadership role, you'll be responsible for safeguarding the financial integrity of a £5m-£10m business while partnering closely with senior management to shape future growth. You'll own financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls - while also developing and leading a small, capable finance team.
You'll also oversee core HR processes, ensuring smooth and compliant people operations within the business.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts in line with UK standards and group reporting frameworks.
Ensure accuracy, completeness and timely delivery of all financial statements.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes.
Work with external auditors to ensure seamless audit cycles and statutory compliance.
Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic decisions and operational performance.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, VAT requirements and relevant legislation.
Maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure data accuracy.
Stay current with UK financial regulatory changes and governance standards.
Collaborate with group finance teams to deliver consistent reporting and alignment.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach and develop a small finance team, fostering a high-performing culture.
Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews and support career progression.
Ensure the team is well-resourced, trained and supported to meet business needs.
Business Partnering & Growth Support
Work closely with senior leadership to support business strategy and profitability.
Contribute to pricing, investment decisions, cost optimisation and commercial planning.
Build financial models for expansion, acquisitions and new service offerings.
Support long-term strategic planning, scenario modelling and risk assessment.
HR Management & Employee Support
Oversee payroll, benefits, and compensation processes.
Support recruitment, onboarding and employee development initiatives.
Provide guidance on HR policies and best practice, ensuring compliance with UK labour law.
Maintain accurate HR records and support positive workplace culture.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or QBE with the right experience
Experience leading and developing a finance team.
Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
Excellent analytical ability and confident communication with non-financial stakeholders.
High attention to detail, integrity and accuracy.
