Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Full Time
Location: Basingstoke
Hours: 8:45am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
An established and welcoming primary school in Basingstoke is seeking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role involves providing vital support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including those with more complex SEN requirements, both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting individual pupils and groups to access the curriculum effectively.
Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs where necessary.
Collaborating closely with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver tailored support.
Helping to promote an inclusive, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have previous experience working successfully with children, ideally in a school setting.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Show a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
Be flexible, adaptable, and able to respond positively to changing situations.
Work well independently, showing initiative and resilience.
Be organised, resourceful, and committed to contributing effectively as part of a team.
Have a clear understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
Be comfortable supporting children with personal care tasks.
