Teacher of Science (Biology Specialism Preferred)
Location: Secondary School, Northamptonshire
Salary: MPS/UPS
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role:
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and knowledgeable Teacher of Science with a specialism in Biology to join our successful Science faculty. You will teach general science at Key Stage 3 and your specialism at Key Stage 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 if desired.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about the natural sciences, with the creativity and skill to inspire students to explore the world through scientific inquiry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a collaborative team in a school that places great emphasis on STEM education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver well-structured science lessons that build practical skills and scientific understanding
Inspire students through engaging teaching that promotes curiosity and independent learning
Support students preparing for GCSEs and contribute to exam success
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of science education and curriculum requirements
Participate in extra-curricular STEM activities and trips
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning across the department
About You:
A degree in Biology or a related scientific field
QTS and classroom experience, including with mixed-ability groups
A commitment to excellent teaching and student outcomes
Strong practical science knowledge and safety awareness
A team-oriented, reflective mindset
