Job Title: Nuclear Engineering Manager – Submarines
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – Onsite

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Nuclear Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the Test & Commissioning program for submarines. Your responsibilities will include:
* Lead and Supervise: Oversee the complex delivery of the program, ensuring all activities align with operational frameworks.
* Planning and Management: Conduct planning and review activities to guarantee products are safe, compliant, and meet quality standards.
* Compliance Assurance: Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to Test & Commissioning policies.
* Reactor Test Group Membership: Participate in document preparation, review, and evaluation.
* Chairman Role: Act as the Nuclear Authorisation & Test Evaluation Committee Chairman when required.
* Team Development: Assess and develop team members to maximize their contributions and meet contract requirements.
* Efficiency Improvement: Review processes to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
Your Skills and Experiences:
We’re looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
* Capability to hold Duly Authorised Persons appointment for nuclear hold-points.
* Experience in Nuclear/Reactor Systems and/or Propulsion Systems Testing & Commissioning (submarine experience preferred).
* Strong leadership skills to manage the Commissioning Team effectively.
* Proven track record in managing delivery to plan and schedule in a similar environment.
* In-depth understanding of Nuclear Site Authorisation/Conditions and/or COMAH.
* Excellent communication skills to convey complex engineering processes clearly.
* Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Understanding of technical issues across various engineering and commissioning disciplines.
* Typically an Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartership and a member of the relevant institute.
* ILM Level 2/3 or CMI Level 3/5.
* MBA/MSc/Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

The Nuclear (Reactor) Commissioning Team:
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the Test and Commissioning team’s complex operations. You will manage individual boat contracts and interface with both internal and external stakeholders. We offer tailored relocation support for all Submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
