Job location: Bromsgrove Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, Newbrook, Stourbridge Rd, Bromsgrove, B61 0BB. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time. Band 6. Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year.
Job Summary
Act as a role model to colleagues, maintain the highest standards of professionalism, and take responsibility for the quality of their work and the service provided to patients. Work across clinically appropriate patients, 17-years-old and over, to deliver evidence-based interventions. Under the direction of the Service Lead, provide prompt local assessment, triage, risk assessment, risk management, signposting, onward referral and evidence-based interventions for people presenting with mental health problems. Represent the team on projects and working groups as required. This is a full-time role.
Main duties
* Act as a key member and resource of the MDT core team.
* Design and deliver evidence-based recovery-focused mental health interventions and groups; experience in delivering psychoeducation in group and 1:1 formats is advantageous.
* Work with this user group in community settings; hold a registered qualification in mental health nursing, occupational therapy or social work.
* Maintain a blended caseload of common mental health disorders, including primary and secondary care, and patients with emotional needs.
* Work flexibly to meet service demands; attend weekly MDT and professionals meetings; signpost to adjunct services as needed.
* Provide support and guidance to carers of patients accessing services.
Person Specification
Experience (Essential)
* Experience of working in a mental health setting
* Assessment of people presenting with mental health problems
* Assessment and management of clinical risk
* Working within a multi-disciplinary team
* Managing own caseload
Qualifications (Essential)
* Relevant professional qualification relating to Health or Social Care (e.g., social work, nursing, OT) with current professional registration
* RMN, BSc/DipSW, BSc OT
* Recent evidence of continuing professional development
* Be able to provide original certificates to verify qualifications at offer
Knowledge (Essential)
* Knowledge of principles of assessment of people with mental health problems
* Knowledge of risk assessment and management
* Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005/2006 and other relevant legislation
Additional Criteria (Essential)
* Able to meet the travel requirements of the post
Skills & Abilities (Essential)
* Positive attitude and ability to act on feedback
* Ability to provide praise and be supportive to others
* Delivery of evidence-based interventions in mental health
