The procurement team at Bristol and Weston Purchasing Consortium (BWPC) plays a unique role in driving efficiencies and unlocking value across both Bristol Acute Trusts and within the wider regional healthcare system. Around £750 million per annum is spent within the Bristol Hospital Group under Spend Management principles that identify and get the most out of every pound spent. Via Spend Management, procurement drives improved financial, resource and environmental sustainability through •Improved efficiencies in how we source and buy goods and services •Reduction in cost of supply •Increased supply resilience •Enablement of improved cross functional working meaning that together we remove waste and deliver better outcomes for patients and better value for the system. A key aspect of the success of spend management is ensuring we have the operational capability and processes to deliver the outcomes of our tendering activity. As such BWPC are accountable for the group wide tendering and ordering platform, SAP Ariba. The system enables our contracted agreements to be implemented, presented and maintained in a way that facilitates ease and accuracy of ordering and receiving.
To lead the operational procurement function, which includes accountability for the Purchase to Pay (P2P) functions, including management of all buying channels, catalogue management and PO invoice query within the Bristol and Weston Purchasing Consortium (BWPC).
To Lead and manage internal processes and resources to enable the timely and cost-effective delivery of procurements not covered through the Spend Group or Capital Plans.
Accountable for a purchasing route strategy, developing and gaining maximium benefit from a procurement service helpdesk, ensuring this becomes the primary route for customer and supplier queries.
Responsible for meeting and developing the team and processes to exceed set KPIs improving the customer and supplier perception of BWPC as a trusted procurement partner.
Enable operational procurement to continuously improve the service delivered to stakeholders and enhance the teams’ expertise..
Be the BWPC senior lead for proactively management of the Procurement team office, ensuring resolutions are found as issues as arise. Ensuring a safe environment by being Health & Safety
Collaborating across the senior team to achieve the objectives of the department; making informed decisions within areas of responsibilities, ensuring that agreed standards and targets are met in accordance with the Department, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures.
