So, what's the role?
We're looking for a Site Projects & Programme Manager to lead the successful delivery of our site-based capital projects and 5-year programme at British Sugar's Newark factory. You'll manage the full project lifecycle — from feasibility and planning through to execution, commissioning, and handover — ensuring every project delivers real business value while meeting our safety, quality, cost, and time objectives.
Alongside delivering projects, you'll develop and lead a high-performing project team, building capability through structured training and succession planning.
What are we looking for?
We Need a Proven Project Leader Who Can Inspire Teams, Manage Complexity, And Deliver Results In a Manufacturing Environment. You Will Have
* APMP Certificate in Project Management (or equivalent) and NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
* Proven experience delivering industrial projects >£500k on time, within budget, and to high safety and quality standards.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, from shopfloor to Board level.
* Degree in Engineering (BEng Hons or equivalent).
* Commercial and financial acumen in capital project delivery.
* Tenacious, innovative, and motivational leadership qualities.
Desirable: NEBOSH Construction Certificate, food industry experience, Continuous Improvement qualifications (e.g. Yellow Belt).
Key Accountabilities Include
* Provide health and safety (H&S) leadership for the project team, and assume responsibility for all aspects of H&S associated with the project(s).
* Deliver a portfolio of capital and transformation projects (£500k–£10m) safely, on schedule, to budget, and to agreed quality standards.
* Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, administrators, and contractors.
* Apply robust project governance, risk management, and reporting through our stage-gate process.
* Own and manage project business cases aligned with site strategic plans.
* Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and drive business value.
