The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer or Food Safety Officer to join our Environmental Health Team. Graduate candidates who have recently completed their degree and are or will be CIEH registered are also encouraged to apply for the Graduate Environmental Health Officer role at a grade up to 8.
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety, and public health legislation; managing food and safety inspections; providing clear advice; undertaking enforcement action where necessary; investigating complaints; sampling; and participating in housing standards enforcement. The role offers further development opportunities within the team.
Key Requirements
* BSc/MSc in Environmental Health or a higher qualification in food premises inspection.
* EHRB/CIEH registration, or working towards registration within the next six months.
* Practical experience in Environmental Health with a proven track record in Food, Housing or Health & Safety.
* Experience managing complaints informally and formally.
Skills & Experience
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team; excellent written and verbal communication skills; analytical ability to interpret and enforce legislation; and adeptness at building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
