Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available Lead Engineering Manager – Offshore Delivery, Transmission The role Are you ready to lead the engineering delivery of some of the UK’s most complex and high-value Transmission mega-projects? As Lead Engineering Manager, you’ll oversee the full project lifecycle for programmes within our Offshore Delivery Directorate, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and innovation across a portfolio valued up to approximately £6bn. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of energy infrastructure and make a real impact on the transition to net zero. We have several positions available to cover a range of project programmes between two engineering departments: Converter Stations, and Cable Systems. You will Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions for major infrastructure programmes. Oversee technical governance, quality assurance, and safety in design, embedding best practice and regulatory compliance throughout each projects’ lifecycle. Drive innovation and value engineering, implementing lessons learned and standardised design practices to enhance performance and reduce costs. Manage resource planning, team development & wellbeing, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement across all levels. Ensure critical engineering and quality risks are identified and mitigated, supporting procurement strategy and commercial negotiations to deliver successful project outcomes. You have Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience and a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with significant experience leading large, complex engineering and construction projects. Deep knowledge of Transmission Owner statutory, regulatory, and technical requirements, including safety and quality standards. Proven ability to lead other leaders and multi-disciplinary teams, and budgets Strong commercial awareness, with experience in value engineering, risk management, and delivering whole-life value for large capital projects. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach and a commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion, and innovation.
