A&E Operations Team Leader - South Yorkshire
We are currently recruiting for three permanent A&E Team Leaders based in South Yorkshire. We also have one secondment available until March 2027. Locations will be confirmed at a later stage.
We are seeking Paramedics ideally with experience in similar roles in response‑led ambulance services, NHS and A&E Operations experience is essential. Importantly you will have a demonstrable track record of staff mentorship, support and leadership where you have shown the ability to lead a varied team.
To enable us to meet the future needs for our services we have invested significantly in our emergency operations and have embarked on a period of transformation aligning our emergency and urgent care services with those of the wider healthcare economy.
Through this Transformation Programme of "Team Based Working" in which we have restructured our emergency operations leadership team and are seeking further innovative thinkers with strong and inspirational leadership style to take on the exciting and challenging roles of Team Leader.

You will bring a structured yet agile approach to planning within your Team which will deliver real benefit to day‑to‑day operations.

Job responsibilities
Responsible for a number of frontline staff, you will ensure that your Team is able to deliver services through effective workforce planning, quality, governance & risk. Working closely with the Area Operations Manager and other colleagues, you will ensure that robust policies, processes and practices are in evidence within your Team.
Please note OSCEs will be held at Doncaster on 4th and 5th June for, followed up by an interview with a stakeholder panel for candidates who pass the clinical assessment. You will need to bring your portfolio for review and certificate of NQP completion to your OSCE.

Skills
* Able to prioritise tasks and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources, to deliver objectives.
* Able to make critical decisions quickly and rationally based upon complex information and the need for action based upon options available.
* Good interpersonal skills, able to develop effective working relationships and to demonstrate professional credibility with colleagues.
Qualifications
* Qualified Paramedic (HCPC registered)
* Entitlement to drive in the UK including vehicles categorised as C1 and D1
* Blue light emergency driving qualified
* Knowledge and understanding of equality and inclusion issues.
Experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in a paramedic role (1 year post NQP portfolio sign off).
* Experience of acting in a mentoring role.
* Experience of effective team leadership and management.
* Understanding of the delivery of operational services and achievement of performance targets.
* Understanding of implementing policies, procedures and working practices.
