Job Description:
The Physical Therapist at the Faschini Wallach Center for Restorative Therapies at Old Dominion University provides comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to support optimal patient recovery and function. Working under the supervision of the Clinic Director, the Physical Therapist develops and implements individualized plans of care and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based clinical care. This role requires professional judgment, effective communication with patients and healthcare partners, and a commitment to maintaining current clinical competencies and compliance with all institutional and regulatory standards Minimum Qualifications:
1. Doctoral or master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
2. Current or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of current standards of physical therapy practice, including evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation.
4. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
5. Experience treating patients requiring orthopedic interventions
6. Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians in accordance with state regulations and clinic policies.
7. Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and professional development.
Additional Considerations:
8. Two or more years of experience in an outpatient rehabilitation or orthopedic setting.
9. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and documentation best practices.
10. Specialized training or certification in areas such as manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, or neurological rehabilitation.
11. Experience in clinical teaching and mentoring of students or support personnel.
12. Evidence of continuing education and engagement in professional activities.
13. Familiarity with program development, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a university-affiliated clinic.
